Treatment of telangiectasias
Treatment of couperose
Treatment of pinkness
Treatment of rhinophyma
Treatment of the little marked facial veins

The treatment of the cutaneous circulatory problems reaches very high levels of quality with the application of the AUTOMATIC VITALTERM. Given that the origin of the physiological effect generated by this current is eminently circulatory, it is not surprising that the telangiectasias that appear in the cheeks or nose are reduced almost instantly with the application of the equipment and that the couperose and the pinkness soften nothing more than finished the first session.

The powerful effect of penetration of cosmetological products and its efficient internal activation are added to the exclusively biological and circulatory effect that the apparatus already generates. For this reason, the results are better than those obtained with other known tecnniques, since you work over the cause of the problem (the blood flow) and not over its external manifestation (the little red veins or redness).

Within the alterations of the vascularization with aesthetic influence on the client are included the disorders of the blood and lymphatic vessels that are of medical treatment. In these cases, the beauty professional will act under prescription and medical supervision.

The alterations of aesthetic interest at facial level are:

• Pinkness
• Telangiectasias and couperose.

Treatment of pinkness

The pinkness is chronic dermatosis of facial localization frequently associated to motor vessel disorders. It is developped over a type of distonic skin (in which the tonicity has been altered), whether seborrheic (the most frequent) or dry alipica. The principle characteristic of the pinkness is the presence of eritrosis (diffused redness of the face), that can adopt a purplish tone and that in more advanced phases is complicated with telangiectasias. Despite being treated from the medical point of view, the beauty therapist will be able to collaborate in determined aspects.

The mechanism of production of the pinkness is progressive. In its initial period an eritrotis is produced, that can last years, months or only weeks. It is characterized by more or less brusque facial congestion in sudden transitory flare ups, originated by stimulus and that can last a few minutes to several hours, accompanied by a sensation of heat.

The pinkness is frequently classified within the alterations of lipidations, although its treatment is closer to that of the erythemas. We can detect when a skin has tendancy to pinkness by the presence of the tendancy to redenning, sometimes, at early ages. The erytrosis is characterized by a diffused and persistent reddening of the face, different to the erythema that is passing.

When you settle over seborrheic zone it is frequent the appearance of papules and pustules that emanate a serosity and evolve by brusque accesses. The skin is usually very irritable and tolerates few cosmetics and medicines. It is not possible to confuse the pinkness with the acne, although it is present frequently papules and pustules, since the absence of blackheads, the frequent presence of telangiectasias and age (the pinkness is not produced in early ages) it would discard the diagnostic of acne.

The origin of the pinkness is related to motor vessel disorders of constitutional type, over which factors like internal disorders (digestive, emocional, alterations menstruals, endocrines, etc.) have an influence that will have to be taken into account at the time of performing the diagnosis if it were necessary to remit to the specialized consultation. Amongst the internal factors are the excessive climatic stimuli (changes of temperature, sun, cold, wind, etc.), alcoholic drinks or cafeines, very hot or very elaborated foods, application of local corticoides, etc.

Treatment of rhinophyma

The pinkness can be presented both in men and in women although these last ones are those which demand more treatments. The pinkness can be complicated with the appearance of rhinophyma, especially in men, where the nose is presented blushed and largened, with the cheeks swollen and thick papules.

All these circumstances are of great importance, not only because they orientate us according to the origin of the alteration and its aggravation, but at the time of performing recommendations and advice for the daily treatment that, without doubt, will determine the quality of the results in cabin. According to all these characteristics you must choose the necessary technical means. The cutaneous necessity that the professional faces through the AUTOMATIC VITALTERM is to decongest, reduce the eritrosis and regulate the secretions.

The cosmetological products to apply must favour the blood circulation. For this reason, it is advised the gingko biloba especially as treatment product. The calming and emollient extracts like plantago, malva, altea, etc. are especially indicated for pulverizations or tonics both in cosmetics of professional use and of personal use. The antieritematosr and regenerating substances (rose hip, aloe vera, etc.) can be used both in form of solution (bottle) and gel, and in emulsion of low fat content.

The treatment protocol of the pinkness begins with the medical visit. The beauty therapist must recommend this consultation, since the pinkness is associated to digestive, nervous, endocrine, gynaecological disorders, etc. Some authors also relate it to bucodental disorders. In all the alterations that are accompanied by eritrosis it is very important the protection against external agents: cold, wind etc. You must avoid brusque changes of temperature. With respect to food habits and life, it is necessary to avoid alcohol, tabacco and stimulants, very hot and spicy foods. You must always use sun screen, since the sun is the greatest enemy of eritrosic skins, and also avoid situations of stress.

During the application of the treatment with AUTOMATIC VITALTERM it is advisable to continually interrogate the client if the nature of the sensation that she perceives is pleasant, in order to make sure at all times that the power applied is correct. If the treatment is performed in the cheeks, it is recommended the application of a moderate power (60-70), while for the treatment of the nose it is advisable a low power (25-40). The size of the accessories applied must also be in relation to the treatment surface, since you must guarantee the total tact of all the extension of the applier with the skin.

The important hyperaemia that the generator application of the AUTOMATIC VITALTERM generates can seem intolerable for those people that suffer from pinkness. However, the restitution of the deficient circulatory process and the important internal oxygenation soon explain the beneficial effects of the therapy and how the problem is normalized throughout the sessions. The hyperaemia generated can disappear a few minutes afterwards and, in those cases in which there is a very serious problem, throughout the hours after the application.

The treatment standard is of 2 or 3 sessions per week, for 15 sessions. It is recommendable to follow a treatment of maintenance in which the professional must establish the number of days of treatment, according to the reaction of the person and of his or her development throughout the days. It is recommended to perform one maintenance session every fortnight and eliminate from the diet those toxic elements that can be believed stimulating from this cutaneous reaction.

Couperose treatment

The couperose is characterized by the appearance of telangiectasias forming reddish stains in the cheek bones, cheeks and nostrels of the nose. It can usually be presented in people of fine and sensitive skin as a result of repeated congestions of the capillaries (erythemas) of the zone, for which the aesthetic treatments are similar to sensitive skins. The causes are usually exposure, without protection, to the cold, wind, solar radiations and heat, and for digestive and nervous disorders. They can appear as the consequence of hormonal factors (pregnancy), physical (solar exposure), general illnesses (cirrosis) and malformations of the affected vessels.

The AUTOMATIC VITALTERM improves the quality of the walls of the vessels, fights against the sanguine stagnation that exists in this alteration, has an antiinflammatory effect, antiphlogistic and calming effect. It is also important to emphasize the circulatory drainage that is produced at the deep level.

The couperose passes through several stages in its evolution, manifesting itself at the beginning in short periods as a facial congestion, afterwards it is presented for longer and the telangiectasias appear, dilations of the capillaries caused by repeated congestions and the vascular atony. At the beginning the skin of the zone presents a dark red colour, then passing to red violet.

The tendancy to suffer emotive eritemas or eritemas by changes of temperature, or other physical causes indicates to us the tendancy of a person to suffer eritrosis, in such a way that we can perform preventive and protective treatments, very important at the time of treating this alteration, since once the aesthetic treatment is instaured it is less effective and you will have to resort to the medical treatment.

The outbreaks of eritrosis (also kniown as “flushing”) in the postprandial period that happens in the pinkness have been object of detailed studies. Traditionally, it is associated with intestinal disfunctions and dietic excesses. All the studies carried out to check these disorders have offered contradictory results. While some investigators demonstrated anomalies detected in the gastroscopias, some haven’t found any abnormality, even with the performance of biopsias.

However, it has been demonstrated that the administration of pancreatic extracts via oral improves the dispepsia (difficult and laborious digestion of chronic character) and the cutaneous injuries of the pinkness, but the recommendation and following of very restrictive diets, acidifying or alkalining, or vegetarian didn’t vary sensitively the manifestations of the alteration, although some people noted “the skin is less tense”.

The studies on the levels of zinc and copper in people with pinkness showed that the values were under the norm in the case of zinc and copper. The levels of magnesium were increased, the same as in other dermatosis studied. Wilkin already showed in 1981 that it isn’t the quality of the food ingested, but the temperature of the morsel of food which can cause the flush and the accompanying facial sweating. In order to repress the reflexes of the facial vasodilation continue recommending, as therapeutical cohelper a diet absent of spices, condiments and alcohol. It must be recommended, likewise, chew well, eat slowly, perform frequent and not copious meals as well as avoiding clothes or belts that press excessively the abdomen.

The cutaneous needs in the treatment of the cuperosis are decongest, reduce the eritrosis and prevent the appearance of the telangiectasias. For this it is recommended to use cosmetological products formulated at base of active circulatory principles as for example the gingko biloba. In its defect, combinations can be used using the natural extract of this stimulator of macro and microcirculation. Besides antiseptic, decongestive substances (that contain flavenoids: horse chestnut, melisa, white spine, etc.) and tranquilizers (calendula, chamomile, aloe, etc.) used in skins with eritrosis and pinkness, vasotonic substances must be chosen that improve the microcirculation.

The extracts of primula and lion foot are also very used for their calming actions, emolients, rich in flavonoids the first ones, and in tanines the second ones (therefore, also slightly astringent). The emulsions will include vascular tonic substances: centella asiática, pony tail, red vine, etc. that improve the vascular permeability and repair the damaged tissue. In the case of the skin that doesn’t tolerate any cosmetological or medical substance (as can happen with pinkness), it is recommended to apply conducting gel exclusively.

During the application of the treatment it is advisable to continually interrogate the client if the nature of the sensation that he or she perceives is pleasant, in order to find out at all times if the power applied is correct. If the treatment is performed in the cheeks, it is recommended the application of a moderate power (60-70), while for the treatment of the nose a low power is advisable (25-40). The size of the accessories applied must also be in relation to the treatment surface, since it is necessary to guarantee total contact of all the extension of the applier with the skin.

The treatment standard is of 2 to 3 sessions per week, for 20 sessions. It is recommendable to follow a maintenance treatment in which the professional must establish the number of days of treatment, according to the reaction of the person and their development throughout the days. It is recommended to perform a maintenance of one session every fifteen days and eliminate from the diet those toxic elements that can be believed to be stimulators of cutaneous reaction.

Telangiectasis treatment

The telangiectasias can also be localized in lower extremities and isolated hands or associated to vascular disorders like microvaricose veins and varicose veins. The telangiectasias are manifested in pregnancy as a result of dilation of the small vessels of the lower extremities and will be treated in the chapter of the corporal alterations. It is important to perform preventive treatments to avoid or lessen its appearance (see Preventive treatment of varicose veins and microvaricose veins).

The standard of treatment is the same as in the treatment of couperose.

Treatment of the small marked facial veins

The bulging of the small facial veins can be a motive of aesthetic discontent for those people that suffer them. The relief of the small facial veins is usually produced especially in the zone of the eyelids and the orbicular tissue of the eyes. The main reason for this bulging is the lack of blood and lymphatic flow especially in the contour of the eyes. The respiratory interchange is not performed with sufficient velocity and this causes a stagnation of the waste products and a slowing down of the veinous circulation.

The AUTOMATIC VITALTERM exerts a very positive effect on reducing the tension that the toxins generate over the veins. On increasing the sanguine affluence and stimulating the lymphatic drainage, the pressure over the vein walls is lightened and a disinflammation of the surface veins is produced most emphatic to sight.

The protocol of treatment is the same as eye bags.
